MOHA Research Center, in the context of its initiative to meet new artists from Kavala, presented the art exhibition of collages by the artist – poet Elina Trayforou entitled “Absorbing the View”. The opening of the exhibition took place on Friday, November 24, 2017, at 19:00, at the Mohammed Ali House, in Kavala.
The publication of Elina Trayforou‘s last book, “Double Face”, which combines the image with the speech, gave the incentive to the artist to dedicate to the image through the inherent poetic dynamics of the collage technique where unmistakable elements are combined. The works of the exhibition “Absorbing the View” are a mixture of photography and paintings with paper material, focused on human and the targeted avoidance of visual exaggerations that create inconspicuous meanings to the viewer. Instead, the artist attempts to portray an idea, a state, or a feeling in the most straight possible way and with additional poetic touches on the title of the works. Titles are often an integral part of the creation itself by directing the viewer’s visual experience with verbal markings to … absorb the view.
In the framework of this exhibition, the journalist of “Kathimerini”, Mrs. Margarita Pournara, welcomed Mrs. Elina Trayforou in a discussion on her work, which took place on Saturday, 25 November 2017 at 19:00, at the Grande Salle of Imaret, in Kavala.
